Make Up | Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick, Kiko Milano

Hello guys, a quick review post for you today. I bought this eyeshadow stick a few months ago. It is in the shade 36 Golden Mauve and this is a Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick by Kiko Milano. The colour is a gorgeous mauve/pink shade with flecks of gold.

I always tend to chose natural colours and thought this was quite an adventurous colour to go for. I really like to use this as a base and then use purple/mauve shimmer eyeshadow shades over the top.

It is long lasting as it says. The one thing I found not great was when I apply this directly onto the lid and then blend it out with my finger, if you blend it out too much the colour goes slightly washy and disappears slightly. I don't know if it is the formula in general or just this colour. I want to purchase another colour to see what which it is, next I will probably go for the shade 25 Light Taupe or something similar.

I would recommend this product to anyone who loves a cream eyeshadow and it is a great price. I love Kiko Milano make up it is so affordable and great quality.

Make Up | Glam Look

Today, I thought I would share a go to glam look of mine.

This look is your classic wing liner and dark red lip look. I used affordable (except the eyeshadow palette) make up to create this look. I'm going to first explain what I used on my face and then my brows, eyes and lips.

On my face I first primed with The Body Shop InstaBlur primer. This is a go to primer of mine and it really holds my make up in place for a long time. I then took a new item All Is Calm Kick Ass Concealer by Soap&Glory. I used this on the red blemishes on my face, it is also great to use on any spots. I tend to take my finger and light blend it a litte before applying foundation.

Then I took a BB cream for my foundation, I recently bought Garnier Skin Naturals BB Cream Original Miracle Skin Perfector All-in-One in Extra Light. I use to use the Light version of this but found it to be too dark for my pale skin tone. Garnier recently brought out an Extra Light version which is perfect for pale skin. This is a great light foundation and it moisturisers at the same time. Sometimes, I apply and blend with my hands alone, other times I use a flat top brush. It's great I recommend giving it a go plus smells lovely.

I then concealed under my eyes with my trusty Wake Me Up Concealer by Rimmel in 001 Ivory. I next used Lasting Perfection Concealer by Collection in Fair 1, on any redness still showing. I did find despite using the green concealer it does still need a matt concealer over the top.

I then set this with One Heck of A Blot Powder by Soap&Glory. I contour with Collection's Contour Kit in shade Light. This is great for a light contour on pale skin. It's very natural and adds just enough colour. Finally on the face I use Tanya Burr's face palette in Peachy Glow. I use the bronzer lightly all over my face with a big fluffy brush. Then use the blush on my Zoeva highlight brush and then I apply the highlight with my ring finger.

This creates the perfect natural glowing face!

Now for my brows, eyes and lips. I first tend to apply my brows with Soap&Glory's Archery Brow pencil in Hot Chocolate. I then set with the Transparent Brow Drama by Maybelline. I then take my eye primer InstaBlur Eye by The Body Shop. I place this all over my lid. I then apply from my Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay, the shade Verve all over my lid, then Suspect over the outer half and finally Snakebite in the crease. I normally also use Foxy to highlight my brow bone and Bootycall in my inner corner.

For eyeliner I used a new liner I bought recently, Soap&Glory Supercat Eyeliner in Carbon Black. When I first looked at the nib of the pen it's quite chunky but working with it slowly it is very easy to apply. A very intense black too, which is great. I created quite a small classic wing with this liner, nothing too big.

For mascara another newby, Thick & Fast HD Mascara by Soap&Glory. I love this mascara, the brush is a great shape and its a very intense black. Its a great mascara to layer with. The packaging is beautiful too much like most of the Soap&Glory products.

Finally I applied a dark red Lipstick by Rimmel a Kate Moss Matte Long Lasting one in 107. This is a dark red with berry tones looks great in the wintery months and autumn in particular.

And that's my go to glam look for you! I hope this gives you some ideas of what to try out next.

If you have any suggestions for me feel free to comment, it's much appreciated.

Make Up | InstaBlur Eye Primer, The Body Shop

As you all are aware I use the InstaBlur Face primer by The Body Shop. I decided to try out the eye primer as well, InstaBlur Eye. This an all-in-one formula, which says it is a tinted concealer and primer. I would say the concealer is very sheer and doesn't really cover veins on the eyelids.

I find that when I wear a cat eye, or bold liner look it smudges after a few hours. I wanted to see if this primer would help keep it in place. I find it doesn't work miracles but it does hold my eye make up in place for much longer than if I didn't use it. After around 8 hours it will start to smudge. I do have hooded lids I'm not sure if it would be different from someone without hooded lids.

I think I would like to try some other eye primers to see which is the best. I cannot say yet if I would repurchase this one.

And thats my verdict on this product. Can any of your suggest any affordable eye primers to try out?

Life | Life After Graduation...

I have been contemplating writing this post for some time now. I graduated from University in 2014 from Bath Spa University where I studied a BA in Fashion Design. I want to talk about how I now reflect on my University time and post graduation life.

My Final Collection - Blood, Sweat and Tears went into this!

I initially had mixed feelings after graduating, I didn't have a job lined up and I had to move back to home. This felt like a step back to be honest, but as most graduates find these days if you haven't managed to line anything up you cannot afford to live on your own. So back home I went and it was time to apply for as many jobs as possible. At first I did focus on Fashion jobs but slowly it became clear I needed to consider other options. Also, I wasn't sure I really wanted to work in Fashion after my degree, it didn't feel like it was for me anymore.

My first job after graduation was at a local University working for their finance call centre. This job was convenient for the time being and meant I had time to concentrate on applying for the Graduate Schemes I had in mind at places such as M&S, John Lewis and Fenwick. I was considering the retail side of Fashion at the time. It slowly became clear that applying for Graduate Schemes was a very full on process, with many online testing obstacles to get past before an actual person considered you for the scheme. Due to this, I didn't get very far as the tests were very difficult and it timed me about 20 mins to do 20 questions. When these questions are to do with maths that is quite tricky. Anyway, as soon as you don't make the mark thats it you've blown your chance, this was the same for both M&S and John Lewis. For other Graduate Schemes I needed a 2.1, which I didn't have I got a 2.2. It was all so frustrating because I knew that if someone gave me a chance and taught me how to do something in Buying or Merchandising I would be able to do it! I soon gave up on my chances with Graduate Schemes plus the whole process really put me off. It was extremely disheartening.

I started to think,  'What on earth did I spend 3 years of my life doing to have such a hard time finding a decent job at the end of it!'. Maybe I could of used my career department at my University more, but I don't know it was too late by then and I live in Kent and Bath is so far away it was proving difficult.

At this point, my temporary job at my local University was coming to an end and I needed to find myself something else. While at University, I had worked at Paperchase and knew applying for Christmas Temp jobs was an option. I decided to apply for a few Christmas Temp jobs. I landed a job in the retail shop Fat Face, I thought great working with clothes this could be a good opportunity. Anyway, it didn't as I was a graduate and needed a full time job, I was less desirable to keep on after Christmas than a student needing a part time job.

After all this, I didn't have a job for a couple of months. I had a sort of epiphany you could say during this time. I decided, no, I don't want a fashion job, time to look for some sort of Admin Office work. I applied for several jobs, quite a few at the University I had been working at before. Eventually the office I worked for previously had a position for me and I have been there ever since.

I wanted to tell this story as I still now am asked, "You studied Fashion, why aren't you looking for a Fashion job?", "Don't you want a job in Fashion?". "No, not at the moment. I'm taking opportunities as they come", is my answer. This is always followed by a confused look on the person's face.

I want to share that it isn't a big deal if you end up doing something else to the subject you studied at University. University isn't necessarily a form of training to work in that industry like an apprenticeship is. It's about studying a subject you are interested in, simple as that.

I find that it makes me feel like a failure, when I know I'm not. I have a great job working in the finance department of a University, which I really enjoy. For me, I find I have transferable skills that means I like working in different areas anyway. I'm not going to set myself to work in one industry all my life. I want to experience different areas.

I would like to reassure anyone else out there who feels like this. Also, I would say if I could turn back time I would have asked for more help from my Careers department at my University.

Fashion Design was a hardcore subject, a HUGE amount of work. The sort of industry where you would need to commit your whole self to it, which I realised I don't want to do. It would make me a very unhappy person. I want to enjoy life and be able to do other things.

I hope this didn't sound like a rant, I have chosen to share my experience a year and half after graduation. I think young people put a lot of pressure on themselves when they don't need to. We need to enjoy life and not take the whole thing too seriously and regret it in the long run.

Thank you for reading, I really hope this reassures at least one person.

Nails | Marylebone Mews, Nails Inc

A little nail polish review for you today. Yes as you can tell by the huge GLAMOUR label on this bottle, this was a freebie with that magazine!

This is a Nails Inc polish in the shade Marylebone Mews. Its a gorgeous stoney grey colour. I think it is very classy and cool. This goes with every outfit and is just one of those easy colours.

I have found though that it chips really easily on my nails. I don't know if this is because it is a freebie or the Nails Inc formula itself. I'm not too impressed with that side of it.

I do think it looks gorgeous! But when its chips after the first day, I am not happy.

I'm not sure if I would recommend this nail polish. I think I need to try a none freebie version and see if there is a difference because I know other bloggers rave about Nails Inc.

We shall see, but thats my verdict so far!

Thanks for reading, please leave comments letting me know how you find Nails Inc polish.

Make Up | Eyes Uncovered Nude Grey Palette, Collection

Today I wanted to review this little drugstore palette. This palette is from Collection and its called Eyes Uncovered Nude Grey Palette. I already have the bronze nude palette and the little mix one, which I love too. I think these palettes are extremely affordable at £3.99 and are sometimes on offer for less.

I bought this set as I wanted a cool set of natural shades to for everyday use. This palette does the job. I find the colours are extremely pigmented and you can create beautiful looks with this palette. You can keep it really simple or you can create a stunning glam look.

My two favourite shades are Under the Moon and In a Nutshell. I really like the selection of colours in this palette. The lightest shade Parchment and darkest Eclipse are the only matte shades in the palette, which is perfect one to highlight and one to define the lashes with.

You can see how pigmented the shades come out on my hand. It is pretty amazing for £3.99! It's so in budget I love it. A great starter palette as well for anyone who is new to make up.

All in all I would highly recommend this product, thanks for reading!

Please leave comments of your favourite affordable eyeshadows palettes.

Make Up | Haul!

Yet another haul for you, this time some make up items I have picked up recently. I just think you never have too much make up and I am always keen to try new things, and stock up on some favourites!

I purchased two Soap&Glory items, the first is Thick & Fast Mascara. I heard this mascara is a good one and have been considering purchasing this for a while. I am always on the hunt for the perfect mascara. I do love Maybeline Lash Sensation but I do find it a little clumpy sometimes. I will keep you posted on what I think of this one!

The second item from Soap&Glory is the Archery Brow Pencil with a brush and pencil end. This is a favourite of mine which I decided to re-purchase. I have many brow products, but I always come back to this one as the colour is perfect for my brows, an ashy brown, the shade is called Hot Chocolate. I really do recommend this product for anyone is looking for a quite and easy brow product.

I bought two Rimmel London lipsticks which are again two favourites I decided to re-purchases. First is a Kate Moss Lip Balm in the shade 01 Clear. This is the best lip balm I have ever used hands down, it is so hydrating and looks beautiful on it's own on a none make up day. My current Kate Moss lip balm is getting very low so I had to go out a buy another!

The other lipstick is another Kate Moss Lipstick in the shade 45. It's my perfect rosy nude shade, and is my staple everyday lipstick. My other one is going to run out soon, which is why I re-purchased it. I recommend this to try particularly if you have a fair complexion like me.

Both the Rimmel London Lipstick & Balm are such an affordable price as well!

Last but not least I decided to try Barry M's new Mani Mask. This is an interesting product, it's a very light matte pink/nude, which is meant to condition and strengthen your nails. I will keep you posted on what I think of this!

And that is everything I bought, thanks for reading as always!

Please leave a comment of any new make up products you think I should try.

Skincare | Soap&Glory Bodycare Haul

Hello! Today I have a little Soap&Glory Bodycare Haul for you. I am a big fan of Soap&Glory make up and recently became a fan of one of their facial cleansers as well. So I thought it's time to try out some of their bodycare!

Soap&Glory tend to sell large bottles of their products such as The Righteous Butter Body Lotion I have decided buy. The cleanser I use from them is a huge bottle and last ages, which makes spending more than I normally would on these items worth it as it lasts twice as long as other products. This lotion smells lovely, it has the classic scents in it such as shea butter, almond oil, and aloe vera. All three are some of my favourite scents particularly in a body lotion. I thought I would give this a go and also see how long it lasts as I do tend to get through body lotions quite quickly, I figured one of these huge bottles would be ideal for me.

The item on the far left is an exfoliator, Orangeasm Exfoliating Body Polish. This has extracts of mandarin, lemon and sweet orange peel. It's very fresh and fruity. I love it! I normally am put off by fruity scents as I hate that artificial sickly sweet smell somethings have, but this doesn't at all its a very fresh smell! When you're exfoliating this makes you feel so clean and rejuvenated afterwards.

Lastly, I bought Heel Genius Amazing Foot Cream, which is scented with menthol, lemon and orange. This is to keep your feet hydrated and moisturised. I have tried a foot cream from The Body Shop and wanted to try another to compare. I am trying to get into the habit of using these creams more but I do find it a little strange, but every time I have used it my feet feel so soft the next day. I have heard good things about this so am looking forward to giving it a go!

And that is everything! Thanks for reading!

If you have any suggestions of what else to try from Soap&Glory please comment below.

Haircare | Kukui Oil Range, OGX

A little review for you guys today. On my recent holiday I went to two very hot and humid countries, Singapore and Thailand. I have thick curly hair and wanted to take haircare products with me to help my hair cope basically! I know nothing is going to work miracles and completely eliminate frizz, fly aways and general fluffiness.

I was pleasantly surprise by these products from OGX, Kukui Oil range, Shampoo, Conditioner and Oil Spray. I figured it would be best to use the whole range to really see the true results of these products. For sure it did really help with my hair on holiday. I still had some fluffiness issues but frizz was pretty much eliminated. I did need to apply the oil most evenings to give my ends a good conditioning. The shine as well was amazing on my hair from these items.

I have used a couple of the shampoo and conditioners from OGX, and I find them all great for my hair. I also suffer with a sensitive scalp and their products do not irritate me at all.

The price is more than other shampoo and conditioners by a few pounds but I think it is so worth the money. Every now and again they will be on special offer in Superdrug or Boots.

Overall, amazing product which does what it says on the bottle. I very much recommend this range from OGX.
